Every time I publish a new book, which took about a year of my life, I feel a kind of inner uplift. That is probably a spike in dopamine that is released when we feel proud of the work done. But this time, it was different. The collection was created for a very long time and stretched a little bit over two years. Why is that? I knitted the Ozone jumper in December 2018, and it was supposed to be part of the summer collection. Then the summer collection turned towards exceptionally on short sleeves, and Ozone stayed aside. Then I took up a collection of bulky yarn, which is now on pause, and only then I returned to "Ozone" again – I began to think about what to do with it next. And it was the one who suggested the direction of the collection – "Tender graphics."
Graphics is a type of visual art in which the surface features (usually a white sheet of paper) and the tonal relationship of lines, strokes, and spots are the primary means of visual images or designs, in other words, graphics.
Of course, there is no paper in the knitted design, but the lines and strokes are in abundance, although they are made not with a quill pen but with knitting needles and yarn.

Каждый раз, когда я публикую новую книгу, создание которой заняло примерно год моей жизни, я чувствую какой-то внутренний подъем. Это, наверное, всплеск дофамина, который выделяется, когда мы чувствуем гордость за проделанную работу. Но в этот раз все было иначе. Коллекция создавалась очень долго и растянулась на два года с хвостиком. Почему так? Джемпер Ozone я начала вязать в декабре 2018 года и он должен был стать частью летней коллекции. Потом летняя коллекция повернула в сторону коротких рукавов, и Ozone остался в стороне. Далее я занялась коллекцией из толстой пряжи, которая сейчас поставлена на паузу, и лишь потом я опять вернулась к "Озону" – начала размышлять, что с ним делать дальше. И именно он подсказал направление коллекции – "Нежная графика".
Графика — вид изобразительного искусства, в котором в качестве основных изобразительных средств, называемых графическими, используются свойства изобразительной поверхности (чаще белого листа бумаги) и тональные отношения линий, штрихов и пятен.
Конечно, никакой бумаги в вязаном изделии нет, но линии и штрихи точно найдутся, хоть выполнены они не пером, а спицами и нитями.
The collection contains designs for all occasions in life. Marshmallow is perfect for celebrations or the office, with Smoky you can go to drama theater, Ozone can be worn on vacation, Sound is good for picnics, Dream is a sporty piece, Electra, Cirrus, and Foam are meant to be worn daily.
Patterns, both individually and in e-book form, can be purchased from the pattern store. To not buy a pig in a poke, I, as always, make a lookbook. You can look at it. In the lookbook, you will find all 8 designs and all the necessary information about yarn, sizes, etc. At the end of the album, you will see several finished projects of our super-mega-talented Early Birds. After some time, everything was a little forgotten, but having revisited the Early Birds' work, I fell in love with the collection again. To be honest, some of their knits are better than mine, so to speak, the original ones. I really hope that they will also inspire you.

The e-book "Tender Graphics" should have been published half a year ago. But a miracle happened to me: Volley burst into my life and crushed all the established routine. If you do not follow the forums, I will briefly describe the situation. I participated in an open design competition from the well-known Brooklytweed company, and one of my proposed designs was selected for the Fall 2021 collection. I submitted my application last June and in August received the smashing news: my design was selected. It is clear that everything was set aside, and my attention was directed only to this task. At the moment, the jumper has been knitted and sent to BT; the pattern has been tested in a closed forum (it was stunning!) and sent for technical editing. According to the rules, none of us can show anything before publication but compared to June last year and this February, there is very little left to wait until autumn. The "Volley" has subsided, and I am quietly making up for a lost time and paying back my debts.
I have heard that my designs and patterns are very complex, and few people decide to knit on them. The "Tender Graphics" collection is no exception. Absolutely each design has its own specific moments. And although with my complexity of patterns, I cut the branch on which I sit and lose, perhaps, three-quarters of the market, do I want to be a part of hundreds of thousands of simplified patterns? They are already a dime a dozen. But, as I always protect myself, if you know all the basic knitting techniques, only one thing is required of you – attentiveness. In fact, complexity consists of more decreases, increases, and short rows in the proper places. And where to place them correctly – that's what the pattern is for.
Another notable difference is that I changed the cover style as I started a new series of books. One day, I remember, a bizarre thought came to me. Why wouldn't I be on the cover of a magazine being 47 years old plus-size model? Why not create this opportunity for myself? So what if it's not "Cosmopolitan." The fact remains: I am on the cover of a magazine!
I played with some clever, intelligent software and created the cover of the upcoming book series. And, as you just found out, one of them came out, on others we are intensively working. I promise the next e-books will be published much faster unless some "Typhoon" breaks into my life again.

Книга "Нежная графика" должна была выйти в свет еще пол года назад. Но со мной случилось чудо: в мою жизнь ворвался Volley ("Град", "Удар"), и сокрушил всю устоявшуюся рутину. Кто не следит за форумами, я коротко опишу. Я участвовала в открытом конкурсе дизайнеров хорошо известной компании Brooklytweed, и один из моих предложенных дизайнов был отобран для коллекции Осень 2021. Заявку я отослала в июне прошлого года, а известие о том, что меня выбрали, я получила в августе. Понятно, что все было отложено в сторону, а мое внимание направлено только на это задание. На сегодняшний момент джемпер связан и отослан в БТ, описание протестировано в закрытом форуме (прошло ошеломительно!), и отослано для технической редактуры. По правилам до публикации ни я, ни другие участники ничего показывать не можем, но по сравнению с июнем прошлого года и февралем этого, подождать до осени осталось совсем немного. "Град" утих, и я по-тихоньку наверстываю упущенное – отдаю долги.
Я много раз слышала, что мои дизайны и описания очень сложные, и мало кто решается по ним вязать. Коллекция "Нежная графика" – не исключение. Абсолютно в каждой модели есть свои специфические моменты. И хоть своей сложностью описаний я рублю сук, на котором сижу, и теряю, наверное, три четверти рынка, если так можно выразиться, хочу ли я быть частью сотен тысяч упрощенных описаний? Их и так пруд пруди. Но, как я всегда себя защищаю, если вы знаете все базовые вязальные технологии, от вас требуется лишь одно – внимательность. Вся сложность, по сути, заключается лишь в большем количестве убавлений, прибавлений и укороченных рядов в нужных местах. А где их правильно разместить – на то и есть описание.
Еще одно заметное изменение – я поменяла стиль обложки, так как начала новую серию книг. Сидела я, когда-то, помню, и посетила меня одна очень странная мысль. А почему бы мне в 47 лет, будучи моделью плюс-сайз, не залезть на обложку журнала? Почему бы самой себе не создать эту возможность? Ну и что, что это не "Cosmopolitan". Факт остается фактом!
Поигралась я с некими умными-разумными программами, и создала стиль обложки предстоящей серии книг. И, как вы только-что узнали, одна из них вышла, над другими мы интенсивно работаем. Обещаю, следующие книги выйдут гораздо оперативнее, если только в мою жизнь опять не ворвется какой-нибудь "Тайфун".
