Sometimes you like the design, but it has no pockets? You can easily add them, and this time I offer you a seamless side pocket with a depth, edge trim, and a nice little surprise. The absence of seams helps pockets to remain the least visible, merging with the main knit fabric of the front.

For the left pocket, knit the left side of the front together with the lower pocket. For the lower pocket, always try to choose a stitch pattern that matches the main stitch pattern of the design so that the knitting gauge does not differ. In this case, the pattern of the upper layer of the pocket did not fit since the Arans, and bobbles for the lower layer would be too thick. Transfer all stitches to a spare needle.
Для левого кармана провязать левую часть детали полочки вместе с мешковиной. Для мешковины всегда стараться выбирать узор, совпадающий с основным узором изделия, чтобы не отличалась плотность вязания. В этом случае узор верхнего слоя кармана не подошел, так как араны и шишечки для мешковины были бы слишком толстые. Петли переснять на свободную неиспользуемую спицу.
Using the crochet hook, with the extended working yarn behind the front piece, pick up the required number of stitches, matching the number of stitches allowed for the lower layer (blue marker). Transfer picked-up stitches to the working needle. In this sample, 6 more stitches were picked-up for the upper layer: 5 stitches to compensate for the shrinking of cables and 1 stitch for the pocket opening edge, hemmed with an I-cord.
С помощью крючка, используя за полочкой протянутую рабочую нить, поднять нужное количество петель, совпадающее с отпущенными петлями для мешковины кармана (голубой маркер). Переместить поднятые петли на рабочую спицу. В этом образце для верхнего слоя было поднято на 6 петель больше: 5 петель для компенсации стягиванию аранов и на 1 петлю для края, обработанного полым шнуром.
Next, knit the upper layer of the pocket together with the button band, knitting-in the first (selvage) stitch of the pocket depth with the first stitch of the lower layer, also the last stitch of the upper layer with the last (selvage) stitch of the lower layer. To deepen the pocket, knit 6-8 rows, then proceed to the pocket-opening hem made with an I-cord. More about knit-in pockets find out here.
Далее вязать верхний слой кармана вместе с планкой, привязывая край углубления с первой петлей мешковины, также последнюю петлю верхнего слоя кармана с кромочной петлей мешковины. Для углубления кармана провяжите 6-8 рядов, далее переходите к обработки края кармана полым шнуром. Больше о привязывании кармана найдете тут.
To do this, pick up the last stitch of the lower layer onto the left-hand needle. Knit (or purl) it together as the stitch appears in the stitch pattern with a stitch, which is between the upper layer of the pocket and the button band. (The purl stitch between the band and cables was used here).
Для этого последнюю кромочную петлю нижнего слоя (мешковины) поднять на левую спицу и провязать вместе по рисунку узора с промежуточной петлей между верхнем слоем кармана и планкой застежки. (Здесь была использована изнаночная петля между планкой и аранами).
That is how the reverse side looks.

Knit to the required height (the same number of rows in the pocket upper and lower layers).
Провязать до нужной высоты (одинаковое количество рядов верхнего слоя кармана и мешковины).
Next, join the upper and lower layers stitches using the Three Needle Join method. If more stitches have been picked up for the upper layer of the pocket (compensation for cables shrinking, I-cord), evenly decrease them while joining the stitches.
The pocket opening here is hemmed with a two-stitch I-cord to create the resistance to the stretching out.
Далее методом трех спиц провязать петли мешковины и кармана вместе. Если для вяерхнего слоя кармана было добавлено больше петель (компенсация стягивания аранов, полуй шнур), их равномерно убавить по ходу соединения слоев.
Прорез здесь обработан двухпетлевым полым шнуром для сопротивления растягиванию.
Joining with the lower layer is not visible either on the front or on the reverse side.
For the right pocket, mirror all the steps.
Соединений с нижним полотном ни в лицевой, ни в изнаночной стороне совсем не видно.
Для правого кармана выполнить все действия зеркально.
After finishing, some improvements were made. The pocket opening was reinforced with a chain stitch, and the thickness of the opening trim is now better in harmony with the cables. Also, the "studs" were embroidered with the yarn tails, strengthening the connection points of the pocket opening and the lower layer.
После окончания были введены некоторые изменения. Прорез укреплен тамбурным швом, и толщина края теперь лучше гармонирует с арановым узором. Также концами нитей вышиты "кнопки", укрепляющие точки соединения канта кармана с мешковиной.
On the reverse side, the yarn tails are fastened with a tightly tied bow – a cute surprise for yourself.
На изнаночной стороне концы нитей закреплены туго завязанным бантиком – милый сюрприз для самой себя.
